EARPLUGS??
A few weeks ago I posted about caliber consolidation due to financial strife. It came down to 9mm vs 38spl. The majority opted for 9mm due to availabilty and low cost. Now,I almost went that route before I made a decision, then I went to the range. I do enjoy 38spl more than 9mm and find myself more accurate with it,including snubbies. Hence,I sold off my last 9mm pistol and all the ammo and now concentrating more on 38/357 and will venture into re-loading very soon. When my situation gets better then I'll look into other calibers again, but for now,I'm totally content with 38/357.
First of all,I'm a revolver kind of guy. Secondly, the 38spl actually saved my life a few years ago during a botched mugging in the French Quarter in which I ended up shooting a perp in the neck at point blank range during a scuffle for my life after his gun (hi point) jammed on him. So,I don't feel undergunned or inadequate at all with the cartridge and after years of shooting it,I find myself most proficient with the 38spl.
Very happy with my choice and don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I know it cost more than 9mm but after the initial set up cost of re-loading equipment,38spl will be a fraction of the cost of buying it new. Next up later on will be...45acp.
