Finally got a crossbow for the wife this year. She's been shooting the heck out of it out to 70 yards. I just hope she gets to kill something with it... preferably a deer. Got a few spots picked out and corn slingin.
Seems like every year I get older (what's up with that anyway!) and feel more and more like that guy somehow. Kills me how he drives up to his 4 foot stand in his pickup! It IS good to go into the woods humble though.
Got my tree picked out alright...going to TN to hunt on my cousin's property this year. Their limit is 3 bucks per season and 3 does per day. We went up 2 months ago for my grandmother's funeral and while sitting out on the back porch you lost count there were so many deer wandering through. The only people for miles around are him, his sister's family, and his parents.
^^^^ I think were making a trip up that way this year too, Land between the lakes. Hung 3 stands Saturday and pulled the camera cards, 2 decent bucks, lots of does and some pigs. It was HOT though.
That's not too far from where we'll be. Most of my family (Aunts, Uncles, Cousins) live in the McKenzie & Gleason area...not far from Paris. They don't have any pigs on their land, but the deer there are nuts.
Got three ladder stands, and three lock-ons up. Have three more lock-ons to hang. That will be done this weekend after planting 7 food plots. What are y'all planting this year? We had good luck with Buck Busters mix last year.
