Many here have said that Academy, like Dicks and Walmart, has stopped selling AR type rifles.
I wanted to clear this up because it is not true. What they have done is taken them off the display rack for the time being and put them under the counter. They are selling like crazy so the one near you may not have any in stock, but more will come in.
At the Laffy Academy all we have left are 3 Remington R 15's. Everything else has sold in the last two days.

    I asked yesterday.

He said that they have to take them off the shelves, but they are still selling them, they will still get them in. I asked about ammo. He said they will still get normal shipments.

Walmart (as of last night) said they are still getting in ammo daily.

Walmart in Central had a full gun cabinet today . A couple of AR style rifles but I think they might have been .22 cal . The Academy had none in sight .

Wal-Mart is not changing a thing about gun sales. If you could get them before, you still can provided they aren't sold out.

I talked to a buddy who works at one in TN. He said they are also taking them off display and that apparently one of the stores got raped by a local media source so they made it a current blanket policy.

Yes, it is pandering to the left. I am disappointed that they have chosen to hide them, but at the same time, I am glad that we haven't stopped selling them outright. I would have quit today if that had been the case.

The bigger question is...what do y'all have left in stock? :D

Almost nothing. It's been a record setting week for gun sales.
Your best bet is to call your local Academy every morning and ask someone in hunting-and-fishing if what you want is there. We get shipments in every day.
If you're looking for ammo, call at 8, if you're looking for guns call at 10.

Soon you will have to legally purchase your guns somewhere that will resemble a "speak easy" of the prohibition era.
