    Hi ,
Do you guys know if it is legal in Louisiana to own and house in your posession a full auto trigger pack for a HK-33 as long as it is not installed in any firearm. These trigger packs are available without having to use a FFL. The way I understand owning any automatic weapons parts is not against the law in louisiana as long as the Receiver is not modified to use such parts. Any information would be helpfull.
    Thanks

I would believe it would fall under the same classification as the full auto BCG for an AR, so no.

Here is an excerpt from an ATF letter.

Written by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), Chief of the Firearms Technology Branch
...M16 bolt carriers are not designed and intended solely and exclusively for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun and are not any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled. Further, an M16 bolt carrier is not a firearm as defined in the GCA or a machinegun as defined in the NFA. An M16 bolt carrier is simply a machinegun part and as such its domestic sale and possession is unregulated under the Federal firearms laws. It is not unlawful to utilize a M16 machinegun bolt carrier in a semiautomatic AR15 type rifle.

I will continue to do some research on this. Some military surplus weapons come with a full auto bolt carrier in perfect working condition, but other parts of a receiver or trigger pack was modified to work as a semi auto. In this case it is simply a trigger pac mod.
Just diggn for all legal aspects Trigger pack ownership without any weapon mods what so ever. It would be good to know if i can own it, and possible register at a later date for mods if decided.

Some examples of the types of NFA firearms that must be registered are: Machine guns, frames or receivers of machine guns; any combination of parts designed and intended for use in converting weapons into machine guns; any part designed and intended solely and exclusively for converting a weapon into a machine gun; any combination of parts from which a machine gun can be assembled if the parts are in the possession or under the control of a person; silencers and any part designed and intended for fabricating a silencer; short-barreled rifles and shotguns; molotov cocktails, anti-tank guns (over caliber .50), bazookas, and mortars.

A few examples of “any other weapon” are: H&R Handyguns, Ithaca auto-burglar guns, cane guns, gadget-type firearms and “pen” guns which fire a projectile by the action of an explosive.

Additional information on a NFA firearms can be found in our section on the National Firearms Act or in the NFA Handbook (ATF P 5320.8).

Louisiana law basically doesn't have anything to do with any full auto legality, it all federal, if it illegal federally it's illegal in Louisiana. You don't want the feds mad at you.
