Depends on the city I think. Most cities it's not legal within city limits. But really it depends on what kind of neighbors you have.

Funny, as a kid in Mid City New Orleans we used to roam the streets with our bb guns and even shoot them at the old Jefferson Davis playground. Never were we stopped or told anything by neighbors.
Today I bet you'd be shot by police or someone lese. Times have changed.
I've thought of using a bb gun to take dove in the backyard but changed that thought to NOT.

School kids used to go to school with loaded shotguns and rifles seen through the rear window on a rack but as you said times have changed.

I don't think it is legal in EBR...but I also don't see how you could get caught. I am not advocating for it though ;)

Ya, its only illegal if you get caught, lol. Its also out of season for squirrel hunting. Some things are best left under your hat. There is a May season coming up and you might also want to invest in a small game license as well. My cousin's cousin might have shot a squirrel or two under these circumstances but I disremember.

I was looking at the big cat 1250 and the silent cat but wasnt sure if the suppressor was worth it.
i helps with lead pellets but PBA pellets make a loud crack right on par witha .22... But otherwise all you hear is the spring and impact... i can neither confirm nor deny that some squirrels in the backyard fell victim to it... and the neighbors were none the wiser....

Do not call your local PD! Go to your local municipalities website and find the prohibition (if one exists), your self. Then go to the Louisiana Legsilature website, and find the statute as it would apply to Louisiana. Killing squirrels out of season is illegal. But killing squirrels out of season without a valid hunting license is twice as bad.

There are exclusions if squirrels are menacing your home, crops, property, etc. But that's a different gig than what it appears you want to do.

Then there's always, the "Concealed is concealed" rule. ;)
