I don't think we should be helping ANY government in the middle east, including Israel. Let them all kill each other, we have enough problems within our own borders to be throwing away American lives and resources trying to bring "freedom and democracy" to a people who flat out reject it.

It's a simple fact: they don't want our ways OR our help. They just want our resources... and for some unknown reason, we continue to hand them over

The silliest part is how quickly they have caught on to using our buzzwords. ISIS Fighters are "Terrorist" Haq Fighters are "militia". They both use terror as a weapon. Neither is a friend to the US.

And look how many cameras and phones follow the carnage around. They've picked up on the use of photo propaganda's effectiveness too.

I wonder if social media technology and the instant transfer of graphic images may actually make not telling the truth easier in these arenas?!? :(

Oh I think they tell the truth. I think a shia militia hearded those women into a shower and shot them. I don't think any of that is fake.

It's a cluster of both b/c you feel like you're getting the story,
that Assad really did bomb a hospital,
until you dig a little deeper and realize
that it was the aL-Nusra Front who bombed it
then ran in declaring it was Assad in an attempt to
convince the people to join the fight against their Gov.
complete with staging people around the bomb site faking injuries
and yelling hatred toward their Gov.

That's just one tiny example I witnessed since the March 2011
    Syrian Civil War kicked off.

So while yes most video is just that,
Raw Video. Propaganda videos are also alive and well.

But without hearing a first hand account
or seeing it yourself, the old Military Adage is too alive and well.

Believe NONE of what you hear,
    HALF of what you see,
and only believe it 15 minutes AFTER it happened.

    :dunno:

I've learned a lot in recent weeks being as I now work with a guy who
was born and raised in Baghdad and served both Iraq and the US military
in the War in Iraq up until a year or so ago.

Now when I watch these Liveleak videos and they're on their
yelling in Arabic I got someone who can translate it, as well as the signs etc.

It's been a real eye opener.

HM, can ask you a serious question?

How do you make your paragraphs so small without hitting the "Enter" key? :mamoru:

As for the propaganda; look how they kept showing that kid in the video of the Israel strikes. Hell he didn't even look injured, but was the star of the video for sure.

Israel is more than capable of defending itself against its individual adversaries. I don't want us involved any further in that region. I do not know a tactful way of saying this, so I'll just say it and put my flamesuit on: If muslims are busy killing muslims, they aren't busy killing americans. I say sit back and let the show go on. Frankly I'm awaiting (and its coming...) Israel to get tired of Iran's mouth.

Regarding Iraq- How about instead of troops, we send them a bill for ousting saddam?
