    +1... there are test in Hammond once a Month. Livingston club is planning one soon. Rayne Hamfest is March 10. there will be dealers , swap tables and Testing also.
    I have study guides and training materials available.

    Can you tell me how to get started? I'd like to take the test but not sure how to prepare or what is needed.

    Just took a practice test after only watching 1 of 2 DVDs from an ARRL Technicians course from 1993 and scored 80%. :) Wonder what I'll score after the 2nd DVD. ha ha!

    Congrats BBQ! For those interested, the SE LA Amateur Radio Club in Hammond has regular testing as well as weekly on air 2M preparedness nets. They also sponsor the annual Hamfest in Hammond. The website is www.selarc.org
