24/7. And a gun in most rooms of the house. My 6 year old carries a Plastic knife and gun around the house too. Gotta teach them right. He can clear the house with me pretty good too.

I carry from the time I get out of the shower until the time I get into bed. My reasoning is two-fold. One is for protection, obviously. I dont expect someone to kick in my door but I also have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and I dont expect a fire to break out either. Second, on me is the safest place it can be (outside of the safe). I have two young kids. If I want it available I certainly cant just leave it out. In it's holster where it belongs, I know it's not going anywhere.
