Anyone know about the blossoming trees in south LA?

Posting to "off-topic" for visibility. Around BR there are a ton of medium-sized trees that have white blossoms that bloom this time of year. They're all over the place...yards, boulevard medians, parking lots. They're deciduous, a bit larger than a crepe myrtle, with a single, large trunk and little more round in shape. Anyone have an idea what tree this might be? I haven't had a chance to snap a picture but I will when I pass one again if someone doesn't name it yet.

How about a dogwood? We has many on this end of the state and they vary in color from white to pink to purple.

Not a dogwood...looks like it's probably a Bradford Pear. I didn't know people had much success growing dogwoods this far south. Do you have experience planting them?

I noticed one the other day in Metairie. It was not shaped like a pear. I was guessing dogwood but I'm not sure.

definitely a bradford pear. i have several of them in my yard that seem to have dumped every single white petal into my pool.....
