Had one go sailing into the wild blue yonder this morning, any idea of where I can get a new spring without paying $10 to ship a part that costs a quarter?

    NOLA/Northshore!
I normally buy the "spring" packs from sportsman's guide or midway or the like when I order something. Good to have laying around for just that reason. Also when installing or taking apart the front pivit pin, an old armorer trick is to do it with a large Ziploc bag over your work area/hands, so when it pops off to the moon it's contained. Also good idea to wear safety glasses. Seen a 1911 mainspring cap and spring take out someone's eye once.

I know, I just had a little too much "I've done this a couple of times, it shouldn't be a problem" and got my ego downsized a little. Anyways, James is hooking me up with a fresh one, so I definitely owe him a favor.
