I bought a stripped lower today. I know nothing, and plan on paying someone to assemble the rifle.

I was wondering if I'm on the right track for a barrel. Also, if this is a Colt upper, will I need some type of pin adapter due to different hole size?

    Here's the Kit.

    Here's the barrel.

I'm a bit confused about the M4 adapter

I'd really like to achieve that A1 style, as that is what my Uncle issued me, once upon a time.

Any ideas, or suggestions would be appreciated.

don't worry about the M4 extension, thats the part at the very rear of the barrel that has the M4 ramps cut into it.

also, which lower did you buy?

once you get the parts in, i can help you with the assembly. the only area i don't have the tools for yet is the barrel nut wrench and upper vice block.

try looking on youtube, you'd be amazed at how much info is on there concerning AR building. it is very VERY simple to do.

The lower is an Anderson Mfg. AM-15.

I just need assurance that the kit I've selected will work with my lower and the barrel I've selected. If so I can order them and get a jump on the assembly. If I have to wait until I meet my smith, it'll cost me three days. No big deal there either, I suppose.

Thank You for your generous offer though.

You can also ask the seller on gunbroker if he has the take down pin sizes available but, I think the pin sizes you are talking about are the hammer and trigger pins which are part of the lower assy.

The barrel and parts kit you have will work with your anderson lower. Don't know where youre located but I'd be more than happy to put the gun together for you. No need to pay someone for that.

The AR platform is modular. 99% of the time diff brand parts will bolt together. No need to over think things. Also, assemble that lower yourself! 30 minutes, YouTube, some masking tape, a brass hammer & a punch. A child could do it! Also, you don't need a vise or vise block to assemble the upper. They help, but all you really need is an AR wrench.
