This is a fairly early factory Armalite Super SASS of the type built to compete for the United States military Semi-AutoLoading-Sniper-System contract. This contract was eventually awarded to the SR-25 in no small part due to logistic considerations as opposed to any performance deficit. Unofficial reports indicate the Armalite exhibited superior accuracy and reliability during trials, especially when suppressed, however a number of SR-25 rifles were already distributed and in use. It was also reported that the Armalite was heavier than the maximum specification the trial called for.
It differs from current production AR-10 SASS rifles primarily by having a barrel with 1:11.25" twist rate designed specifically for the M852 OTM cartridge and by lacking the unnecessary forward assist.
Round count is 420 as of 8/30/2013.
With the rifle are included the following Accessories:

3. Harris bi-pod attached with an A.R.M.S QD adapter.
4. Otis 7.62 cleaning field cleaning kit (unused).
5. Armalite AR10 false suppressor/AAC adapter.

7. Leupold Mk4 LR/T 8.5-25x50mm (30mm) M1 Illuminated MilDot Reticle scope.
This rifle comes from the factory with a 1 M.O.A. accuracy guaranty. My experience with this rifle shooting M852 and 168gr FGMM consistently produces groups well under 1 M.O.A.
