Beginner in Lake Charles

Hello everyone,

I'm pretty new to all of this, I just bought my first gun and would love some pointers from anyone in or near lake charles. I'm from Baton Rouge so I'll be there pretty often as well. But if anyone know of a range that would suit a beginner please let me know. More info about me is in my bio if you're interested!

There is a nice range on ward line road in LC. The lake charles gun club. I believe they may offer some
intro courses also. There is an indoor range on kirkman street too.

That's the range on kirkman. It's probably better suited for a beginner, as they have a pay per visit deal. The first range I listed requires an annual membership.

Welcome! Make sure and call ahead for the lc gun club. There isn't always staff on hand, as it's a locked range that members are provided a combo for. Usually during the week days someone is out there though.

Yeah? My boss told me that sigs are pretty good, so hopefully I pick a good one to start off with.

It doesn't matter, I'll probably check out both. But the one on kirkman just charges you for that day (so I've been told) so I'll probably just go check that one out and possibly visit the other then decide rather or not I'll join.

Welcome to the boards. I am also in LC and use the LC Gun Club. I believe there is $15 fee if you go with a member to try out the range. It is a great range for long distance as it is the only one in the area with a 600yd range.
