The Best Buy near me has just about everything in stock at good prices, gets tons of business, and the employees are adequately trained.
I really dislike bestbuy. Their employees are mostly untrained and are unwilling to help if you're not buying what they want to sell (product knowledge is probably better at Walmart's gun counter...). BUT its the last of the big box stores. That is a problem. Where am I going to go look before I order online?
More seriously, there are times when I need something now and don't want to wait for shipping. I've had my computer go down on a Sunday and needed a hard drive or video card. Where am I going to go if BB is gone? Walmart? Radioshack?
For y'all that want to see a tv before ordering, Walmart and target both have a fairly decent selection of tvs. In fact I was just comparing an LG to a Samsung at Wally worl yesterday while wife was looking for a battery. Also there is the often forgot about Cons for seeing before buying.
This is the most amusing BB every did. Play the video for a laugh.
The end of all things be nigh!
Buy online, don't waste money on state tax, get better deals, have more selection. Win Win and Win.
and pay shipping and have a chance it is broken when you get it or not quite what you expected when it arrives... Don't get me wrong I buy some items online but for large purcheses like TVs/appliances I want to look, touch, see in person first.
For the most part my experinces have been that tax roughly = shipping costs.
I treat Best Buy like my Local outrageously overpriced Gun Shop.
I finger all their goodies for but they don't get my money.
I think best buy would help themselves if they got rid of the section of the store with vacuums, washers and driers. They could allocate that area to more TV's, which is one item i do like to see before i buy. They could also get rid of the Pesky DirecTV people who swarm like flies on a terd when they see someone eyeballing a TV.
Barney's?

Don't forget to pay extra for Walmart's **** warranty along with your TV, that even the worst Best Buy warranty will beat.
I've been burned buy Walmart too many times on their shitty warranties and shitty electronics that always need returning...never again.
+1 unless it's something I want THEN, or food. I always buy out of state if I can. Less tax for LA, cheaper for me. Win/Win.

It's not there, but I can tell you from personal experience when I was working on computers in the 90's that every PC technician looks through the contents of your hard drive. I can recount that a co-worker was doing just that until he stumbled on a cache of child pornography pictures in which he got the local authorities involved in. Then he had to come up with a way to explain how he came across so it wouldn't sound as though he was invading that person's privacy. If you don't want something found or viewed by someone other than yourself, keep it on a jump drive or an external hard drive.
