Anyone have one/had one? Any major preference on caliber for this lil toy? I don't really care about the resale, and its obviously not something I'd ever ccw. It's just another toy to have. I know there's a hundred derringers out there, does anyone have a recommendation otherwise? big pro here is that its made in texas. :)

I've owned several derringers, There is something 'neat' about them.

However they are totally useless and I come to my senses and sell them sooner or later.

    Got one currently.

For the cost of the barrels you could buy a more inexpensive derringer and have 2, 3, 4, etc

    Shreveport - or therebouts
Step 1 - Decide what calibers you want derringer in.

Step 2 - Get on Gunbroker and buy a used one in any one of those calibers.

Step 3 - CALL Bond Arms, ask to talk to the guy in charge of bbl seconds. Tell him what calibers you are looking for.

Step 4 - Buy extra BBLs with minor blemishes at awesome prices.

Step 5 - Call back and check frequently.

Bond Arms customer service rocks. Their derringers are over engineered tanks. I love mine. 22 WMR is hard to find, but they are out there. The 45LC/410 bbl resides on mine most times. I started carrying it into the woods for snakes instead of my heavy ass judge.

I've got one in .357, it rocks with full-house .38 spl. blackpowder loads!
Like already stated, it is a tank!
I've also had one of the American (made in Texas too) derringers. It was much closer to the lovely lines of the old Remington derringer, but accuracy, even at 10 feet, was........ahem......"hit or miss".

The Bond is awesome - I got a chance to talk to the Bond brothers and shoot the .410/.45 model at a match a few years back. Cool guys!

Check out page 2...........I think I hear my own horn tooting! :D

thanks for the positive feedback despite its eh, shortcomings.

i just thought it was an incredibly "neat" gun to have, after fondling one at the gun show last week. I'll pick one up and use as a conversation piece. I hadn't considered actually using it as a snake gun, but since the caliber is almost irrelevant to me that may be the way i go.

I have a Bond Arms in .410/45LC, with the right shells it's a blast to shoot.
With 3" mags it can become a handful.
I usually carry it when fishing just as a snake gun.
It would be effective at the landing if someone was messing with the truck.
Usable range is short but with #8 or 9 shot who cares?

I have one in the .410/45LC and .357/.38 and i changed the hammer spring. It's so much nicer now. Dont need to be superman to pull the trigger. I got it from Bond.
