Thinking about adding one to my collection. Any inherent problems with the .40 that I need to be aware of (specific to the Hi-Power)?

9mm for me because I'd compete with it in production. No point in 40 s&w because you can't shoot major caliber in Production Division for USPSA.

IF it's true that the .40 caliber version is built any different (i.e., stronger) than the 9mm version then I'd purchase the .40 S&W and have a custom 9mm barrel installed.

It's true. I own an FN marked .40 and I've handled a few 9mm. The slide is more substantial and there is a third locking lug. The frame itself is the same as other newer Mark IIIs as they now use the stronger frame originally made for the .40 across the board.

Darn it you're right. I knew that. I was just too stupid to remember it.

    See...a home for everyone :hi5:

Though, as a advertising pro, if I had to come up with a tagline for Limited 10 it would have to be:

"Twice the recoil and ammo expense of Production, but with all the mag changes!" :D

I agree with the point about the browning being designed for the 9mm but I would still stay with the 40! UNLESS there are competition regulations and this is what it will be used for.
I don't have a clue about the comp. regs. I am just a PAPER PLATE/ZOMBIE TARGET KILLER! :(
    But then again! DON'T FORGET!!!!!
