Tiring to locate supplies to reload for my m1garand I goofed and bought imr instead of hodgen powder.
Honady book calls for hodgen 4895. Are the two close enought to interchange or should I use the imr in other cartridges and start searching for power again?

Look on the Hodgon web site and it will give you loading info for the IMR 4895. Hodgon makes this powder and provides info for it. It's a good powder and should do fine.

I used to shoot it in my M1 Garand. Something like 46-48 grains with a 168 SMK shot under an inch. Mine was bedded and accurized.

I use Varget and H-4895 and IMR 4895 in Garand loads. I use info from the Hornady manual for Jacketed bullets.
    I also have a Brass NOE {Night Owl Enterprises} 311365 copy that toss's a 200 grain round nose and use 34 grains of H 4895 or IMR 4895
It gets better groups and cuts my cost way down
