    I know several people that live in western canada and they refused to comply with this law. Most of the mounties refused to follow up on any reports of people that refused to comply. Canada is a country that is run like the state of Illinois. The bulk of the population lives in a small, very urban area(Montreal,Quebec,Ontario) and they control the government much like Chicago controls Illinois.

    That is how it's done! Good for them- and good for the Mounties for refusing to report their friends and neighbors for "violating" that bogus garbage. There are a lot of fellow gun owners in the Great White North fighting to end this kind of BS....

    From Wikipedia: The Province of Quebec immediately filed a request for an injunction to prevent the destruction of the data. A temporary injunction was granted by the Superior Court of Quebec on April 5, 2012 to prevent the data for Quebec residents from being destroyed until legal arguments could be heard.

    I'll bet you those that want to hold on to the data consider themselves liberals/progressives.
