Just an FYI for those that may be traveling to Tennessee: I just got back from the Chattanooga area. I, of course, wanted to CC while there. I had done so before on a previous trip a couple years ago. This trip I carried a snub nose .38, appendix inside the waist band. One thing with TN is that if there is a sign posted on the business entrance stating no guns, well, you gotz to abide by that. I saw no such signs this trip. On my previous trip there was a museum and the pedestrian bridge across the TN River that were off limits (I didn't check to see if those two places were still posted, but probably are). I ate out several times in Chattanooga and the Cleveland areas. You can carry in restaurants, just don't consume alcohol. I even ate in one BBQ joint in Cleveland (TN) that had a "Guns are allowed" sign posted. I carried at attractions of Rock City and Ruby Falls, both were gun friendly, or at least ambivalent (i.e. no signs posted to the contrary). I thought for sure I'd be making more trips back to the car to stow my gun due to no gun signs being posted, but never had to this trip. I rafted the Ocoee, but the river is off limits to alcohol and firearms, and that was fine.

I typically carry a Glock 26 in a Crossbreed holster in the 4 o'clock position but really liked the appendix position this trip. Kept the .38 there even while driving. It's a little unnerving to have the muzzle in that vicinity but have a good holster where the trigger is protected and the family jewels (and femoral artery) should be safe.

I recently moved back to LA and carried on my FL permit. I drove to TN and back through MS, AL, and GA, carrying the whole time, and didn't see any no guns signs anywhere along my route (e.g. rest stops, restaurants, etc). Gotta love the south. :)

I researched all the states concealed carry statutes prior to my trip to note requirements and off limits areas. Also a member of the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network.

Just wanted to share my positive experience. Hope others have the same experience.

Yeah, they had the water really flowing so the middle portion was more exciting than normal. We had a couple from Belgium on our raft. The young lady said that they were in Walmart the day before and were surprised to see guns being sold in the store. They didn't seem anti-gun and smiled as she stated her observation. I just told her that not everyone in the US supports the 2nd amendment. I think they were having a blast in the US.
