Charcoal for water purifacation?

Is the charcoal the same stuff you use to barbque with. Do you just crush it up? If not what kind of charcoal do you use and where can I get it?

No its not...Go to a pet shop and get you a carton of loose filter charcoal. Go with the good stuff you can see a difference. I dont know if they still make Magnum but it is good.

Rinse before using. It will have a lot of dust.

Go to Walmart and get some of the replacement filters for the water pitchers. Briquettes you barbecue with contain other chemicals (sulfer for one).
