I ran across this Colt 1903 32 cal manufactured in 1927 and thought it was very interesting. I may pick this up if no bad experiences with this model. The condition was very nice for the age, looks to have been handeled/shot very little.

    What r yall's experiences?

General MacArther carried this model. He drew it and shot at a Japanese plane flying overhead. I'm sure it didn't do any damage, being its a .32ACP.

These awesome little guns are very, very accurate and dependable. Depending on condition, they usually run for about $600 - $700.

I've never shot one. But unless you already know it I could tell you a little about the history of the design etc.

Good stuff there guys! Dave , would love to here a bit about john b's thought behind design. I never have seen one until yesterday and was intrigued on the size and grip safety.

Uh... that was Patton, he shot at a German plane, and used a Remington Model 51 in .380 ACP.

    .

It was General Patton. It was a German plane. However, it was a 1903, which is a .32ACP.

Edit: I searched the web. I can't confirm or deny this. IIRC, it was something I saw on the History Channel.

The 1903 is the all time leader in pocket Colt automatics with a 42 year run. According to RL Wilson 572,215 were made all in .32 acp. There were so many variations of this model and it's brother the 1908 that I don't know them all. A very similar handgun was made by FN in Belgium. Colt's were sold in the USA and FN's were sold in europe.

Ive got one in .380. Its a great little gun. My brother and I have matching set with sequential serial numbers and they have both been put through the paces, however, I can still take it out of its display and go to town. Weve problem put 200 rounds through each of ours with no malfunctions and they are pretty accurate. I wish i had one in .32
