I'd like to know a little more about this gun. It was my dad's and I inherited it after he passed. It is a Colt Government model with a Bo-Mar full length adjustable sight. The serial number is 280XXX-c. The barrell is marked .45 Auto N.M. (National Match??) 7791414. I believe he shot bullseye competitions with it back in the 70's when he was in the Navy. It's in pretty good shape, and the frame to slide fit is tight, but you can tell it has been shot some. I'd rate it at about 80-85%.
What I'd like to know is: what is the approx value? Are there any bullseye matches in the S. LA. area? Does it only shoot semi-wadcutter ammo? Will it function with non-match ammo well enough for self defense? Any other info you may have is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott
