Actually in Rambo II & III they used a Eurocopter Puma. It was mocked up to look like the MI24. PHI leased them for the film. Here is a link to the photo of the actual aircraft. Cockpit and noses are different.

Years ago there was one at the Army Helicopter museum at Ft. Rucker in Alabama, no idea if it is still there, they had all sorts of cool prototype 1 man helicopters, jet powered observation platforms, etc.

They had a few russian helicopters at the Fort Polk airfield maintained to fly when I was their in the early 2000's including this one. I thought the "Flying Tanks" nickname was a bit of an exaggeration till I went and looked at it up close!!! I was wrong, these things were built damn tough, our Blackhawks were kites compared!!!
