With deer season being over, I'd like to hit some public lands, WMAs, etc. to try and bag a hog. As it is currently small game only, could I run into trouble carrying a crossbow with broadheads? I mean, that's not exactly obvious squirrel hunting gear, but I can't find anything in the regulations that forbids it.

    What do you guys think?

You can only use weapons that are legal for season's in progress. Its in the WMA regulations. Since small game season is in progress, you are limited to shotguns up to a certain size shot or rimfire rifles up to 22 magnum.

Not all WMAs are closed for Deer Season a few are still open for archery and on those you'd be fine.
But if no Open Archery deer you must stick to Rimfire or shotgun.
I personally would prefer a .22,.22 mag, .17 HMR or 12gauge with T or BB shot. Can get more shots off and more pigs down then an xbow if you walk up on a large group.
