I really wanted to know about this as I already knew that the cryo process would increase the accuracy of bullets before reloading. But what about already loaded rounds?
David said it was safe and he had done it beforeI thought to myself "Oh well what the hell, no balls no glory."
So we through a box Hornady Leverevalution 45-70 in the fridge I would have preferred a Ruger #1 to check it out, but all I have is an H&R Buffalo Classic so on with the show.
Now this is my hunting gun for primitive weapons and it shoots a 1 inch 3 shot group at 50 yards which is all I ask of it. It kicks like hell. Ive killed 5 deer with 5 shots all DRT, and then some, so I know this is a good rifle.
Well I needed to check the zero anyway for the season. It was a little low and still shot a 1 inch 3 shot group. A few clicks up and it was dead center.
I sent the pic of the zero target to David on a Wild Boar head. "If this ammo fails to fire blame it on David Minchew"
The funny thing is it didn't do anything to the ammo it was still perfect, in every way. Was it more accurate? No, still the same. Did it blow the gun up like all the critics will coment on? No, no pressure problems at all.
So why did I do it? Well I wanted to be the Sr. William Hillery of Frozen Bullets. There are plenty of scientific reasons of course but frankly I wanted to see what would happen and now I know.
