I’m not a businessman,(although I do have a degree in Business with concentrations in Accounting and Management, and a lot of work toward an MBA), and I’m not a FFL dealer (although I held an 01 FFL for about 25 years), and I didn’t sleep in a Holiday Inn last night. And so far I haven’t commented on AFFS but I finally just couldn’t resist.

Simple logic would indicate that if you take out a loan to start a business (say $30,000), then your day to day business plan should include adding a little cushion to your costs to repay that loan. That’s called Markup, or sometimes Profit Margin. Most businesses use this markup to pay their day to day expenses such as mortgage, utilities, salaries, insurance, and LOAN REPAYMENTS. If your business is to custom order items like Class 3 devices, it would seem that you would charge whatever the item cost plus markup, then set aside the “cost” part to pay for the items (or refund the money), and use the markup to pay your bills.

Looks to me like the bank gave you enough years to see that you didn’t have the ability to repay and declined to renew the loan, probably something to do with your inability to operate within your means.

    Is that a fair summary?

Maybe I was wrong in Post #75 :dunno:

My money is on the wireless internet not reaching the bottom of the hole, or he realized why his friends gave him the shovel and used it for seppuku. I would've suggested a butter knife, railroad spike, 14" plastic dong, or maybe emperor's **** stirring paddle before I the shovel, but oh well.

3 day before he closed shop, he look me eye to eye and say he use it to "pay off some bills"
and that I would get my money next Tuesday .

There are a lot of facts and funnies here. This is the one that strikes me the most.
Everyone here knows Tommy and would likely take a bullet for him.
Therefore there is no doubt in his statement.

The $8k CASH was butter melting in your mouth......... Your " way out" of the bind you were in............
You put Tommy's money on "Red" at the roulette wheel when Whitney called your bad business loan bluff.

Whitney, Choke Point, Godzilla........ Whatever....... doesn't make a squat of difference.
    At any point in time.
You stole good money to cover bad money........................

Tommy's money was NOT a payday loan to float another loan in hopes to move enough product to catch up.

I recently took in a Corvette for another shop.
Female customer damn near in tears making the same claim.
The current shop has their Vette in pieces.............
They left a $10k deposit on a $15k estimated job.........
3 months later the shop called stating they NEEDED the remainder $5k or they could not finish the job.
She thought this was a little funny, but proceeded to the shop to pay up. ( it was owed ? Right.)
When she gets there, she sees the car in pieces and NO new parts anywhere. She ask to see some of the special order parts supposedly purchased.
After the run around, the secretary quietly tells her that another customer didn't pay his bill on time , and the shop owner used her money to catch up on his bills. That he didn't have the money to order her parts to even begin putting her car together................ Knowing this, he took her cash and her car apart to "Lock her into the deal".
Because there was no actual contract with specific terms, someone advised her to "pay in full" the $5k in hopes that the shop owner would complete the job.

2 weeks later, She gets a phone call from the actual property owner telling her that the auto shop was out of business and she had 3 days to gather up boxes and come get her car off of his property..................

    Quick story,

"When I was younger about 18 I made a mistake and bounced a check, well, sure enough I deposit some money in the bank and low and behold, the bank "stole" my money too in order to cover my bad debt."

I blamed myself for **** poor manangement and had to pay multiple nsf fees because that check caused other charges to bounce. In all it cost me hundreds of dollars.

At the end of the day, my mistake cost me a lot of money, BUT it was my fault. I didnt MANAGE MY assets correctly.

Approximately ten years ago I decided to get my first precision rifle. I must admit I was ignorant of purchasing a used firearm back then so I placed my faith in a dealer. I walked into the Old Jefferson Gun Shop and saw a custom built Remington 700, Leupold scope, and custom stock. Morey sold me a rifle that was a piece of s**t. He said he checked the bore and that the barrel was in great shape. I took his word for it and spent $2,000.00 on a pre-owned custom precision rifle. I happily and enthusiastically took my rifle home and shot it. It would not group. Doping the scope and various brands of match ammo did not help. I had a Marine sniper shoot it. He also had horrible groups so I knew it wasn't just me. I took the rifle to a gunsmith and I learned the barrel was shot out. I was lied to.

I had asked many questions before I spent my money. I was told the rifle had less than 400 rounds through it and that it was well taken care of. After I learned that the barrel was no good I went back to the shop thinking that I would get a little satisfaction from speaking with him or the owner and maybe they would fix the problem. I was really wrong with that assumption. I ended up selling the rifle for a loss. I was honest to the buyer and I told him everything that was wrong with the rifle.

I will never give him my business again.

Morey = Douche.. Never ever trust that guy!

I don't know if Morey is a douche or not, but I know he has little to do with this situation. Like Obama blaming Bush...

Oh he's a douche! He may or might not have, but he sure has ripped people off and also tried to bend me over.. I wouldn't dispute any claims against his character with anyone! HE'S A SKUNK OF THE HIGHEST ORDER! IMO.
