I feel so much better and less worried about storms since I moved to the northshore right below 12 this year. A whole house 30kw natural gas generator doesnt hurt things either.

I seem to have misplaced your address. Can you send it again?

Haha. Trust me after Issac last year I know the pain of a hurricane. It wound up being a blessing in disguise though. Insurance paid off well and was a big help in getting us moved. I am just lucky I was able to sell my house and not take a real hit on it.

I'm ready up here in the BlueGrass. Gulf Coast weather was one of the major reasons we left BR.

If it gets all the way here, it will have to be one hell of a storm.

What looks interesting with Dorian is how it interacts with the high pressure in the Atlantic. It might get nudged a bit south and come into the Gulf.

I could use a few days off work, either way, I'm fine with it.

We'd better get a better handle of what it's gonna be, first....:dogkeke:

I don't want a 3+ staring us in the face come next Thursday. :eek3:

I saw a few models suggesting it may stay to the south of us- hope they're right. Mexico's always bitching they need more rain....I say let em have it. :)

I've been hearing that the dry air and upper level wind shear have been taking the punch out of it, and it may even be downgraded to a remnant before it ever hits the gulf.

That's a few days away though, and we all know how accurate weather predictions are.

If it hits, I just want it to be on a Tuesday, get Monday off to leave and come back next week. Hurricane Vacation :D

Dorian's just about done. Hardcore shear and lower SST's yesterday afternoon and last night kicked his ass. He's now running into a mass of upper, mid and low level dry air... a death sentence for a tropical cyclone. There's a little bit of low level circulation still going on and that's the only reason he hasn't been downgraded to a tropical wave.

Altho they are telling us it has lost a lot of its strength, that sucker is headed for the Gulf and who knows what will happen to it when it gets there.
