    Maybe a few more details?

Are you looking for a cowboy rig? Just a plain belt-holster?

If you've got anything longer than a 6" barrel, crossdraw is the ONLY way to go. Even then, wearing a 6" barreled revolver on the hip sucks.

I think I'm leaning towards a cartridge belt with cross draw holster. My Blackhawk has a 7 1/2" barrel. I'm hoping to do some hog and deer hunting. I'll be staying with open sites. Just trying to find the most comfortable rig for all day carry.

I carried my 8-3/8" S&W 29 hunting a few times last year. Strong side belt holster carry sucked, especially trying to sit down! I ended up using a shoulder holster that I had and was much happier.

Not leather, but the Blackhawk Nylon chest holster worked for me while walking and hunting from a hunting seat. Could have use a strap around my back to keep it from bouncing while travelling over rough ground.

forgot to add that my 6 1/2" Blackhawk has a Millet red dot on it that severely limits the choices for a holster unless one wanted to wait on a custom holster......
