On one hand, I'm disappointed that this is a thing. On the other, it's hilarious and almost worth $200 to me for the novelty.

Hate to admit it, I believe I am going to order one.
But as a grand prank for my HK fanboy buddy.
Will ask him if he wants to go to the range (the answer is always yes) and shoot some nfa stuff and my "latest purchase."
Am hoping to sneak a picture of him shooting it (hoping for sideways gangsta hold) and then post it on social media.
It will **** him right off.
    And that, gentlemen, is priceless.

I'm in the same boat. Do I really want to go in person and show my face while picking this thing up? Then, I'd be tempted to open carry it, but that's how you end up becoming a meme.

Well, if you do open carry it be certain to get a nice expensive custom leather rig made for it.
Would be an ironic twist to most open carriers who have a decent gun in a $5 nylon belt clip holster...

Believe it or not, Galco makes a nice paddle holster for the C9 Hi-Point...
    Wonder how many they've sold.

I hear they work. It's just one of those things in your life you want kept a secret. ;) like a screaming case of herpes.

    Hate to say it.
I was at a gun shop with a buddy and we both went half-in on a 9mm Hi-Point as a joke.
We decided to shoot 1000 rounds of mixed crap 9mm we had laying around (much donated by the gun shop just to see) in a torture test.
JHP, FMJ and all sorts of oddball reloads through it.
Never failed to feed or fire once.
    Not once.

It is a fixed barrel design so it was insanely accurate at pistol range distances.
Only complaint I had is that it made a blister on my shooting hand thumb because the grip was hard plastic crap.
After the test, we decided to clean it.
    Therein lies the rub.
We could not for the life of us figure out how to break it down.

    Overall a fun experiment.

Why do I not carry one today?
This test was done in one day and I have no faith that it will not rust itself together overnight if left without maintenance.
Add that I'd likely need a drift punch to clean it and it becomes a no-go.
Might as well get a Spanish Ruby.
(Same price, reliable firearm that can be maintained...)
