The Hickman Group’s primary mission is to promote the original intent of the Second Amendment as an individual right, by providing excellent introductory firearms safety and marksmanship training, with special consideration given to educating youth and women.
On Tuesday, March 17th, we will offer a FREE NRA Basic Pistol Class to homeschool families. Our standard fee for this class is $50 for adults and $40 for kids. In addition, Southern Shooting Center has agreed to waive the $20 range fee for all kids 8 to 17, making this a $60 value. Adults will still need to pay the range fee. www.southernshootingcenter.com
The Hickman Group will have several different handguns available for you to shoot and we will be providing .22 rimfire ammo. You will need to bring one box of 100 rounds of factory loaded 9mm ammo. You may purchase this at Wal-Mart or Academy. The Winchester “white box” is economical and works well. Remington or CCI are good too.
The class will start at 9 AM and run till about 4 PM. The range has a couple of vending machines for snacks or you can do like we do and bring your own. We will break at noon for an hour or so for lunch. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or go to one of the nearby fast food places.
The class size will be limited to 10 kids. At least one parent must attend with their children.
We will also be introducing the students to the action handgun sport of Scholastic Steel Challenge http://www.scholasticsteelchallenge.com/
