Full Size Carry 1911

I just wanted to say it sure is a hell of alot easier carrying when the weather gets a little chilly. Summer time I cant hide a pea-shooter, Today I carried my 5" 1911 OWB(concealed) just cause I could. Just thought I would share. Anybody carry owb all the time. Its a hell of alot more comfortable.

I normally carry my PT145 OWB year round with a little longer shirt. Now that it's getting colder I ordered a new holster for the Berettas.

I can conceal my full size 1911 in an iwb c-tac
just find it to be too heavy, I have a blackhawk serpa cqc for owb,
which is great for the range, but doesn't hold the gun close enough
to body.
what is everyone using for owb: concealing a 1911?

Full Size Carry

I carry my Sig Sauer P220 using a Blackhawk Serpa....Have carried it in the heat of the summer. The key is to wear a t-shirt underneath one of those "square tail" shirts ( no tropical Hawaii type stuff), leave the outer shirt unbuttoned. You might not be a fashion statement to most, but it hides my P220.
You are right about one thing, a full size handgun is heavy especially when it's packed full of 200 grain .45's ...
I have been known to throw a Berreta 21 in a pocket to make a quick trip somewhere,...not really happy with that scenario most times.

I carry my Lil' Wilson Sentinel (sub-officer size 1911) IWB pretty much year round. I was just thinking today about getting an OWB holster for the winter for comfort. I would have KD Holsters make me one, but hell it would be warm again by the time I got it.

So yeah...in for "off the shelf" OWB holsters recommendations.

I have a G23 with a Don Hume IWB after a few days you wont notice it is there. I had to reach on my side just now to make sure it was there. 13 rounds of fun (I down load one for spring creep).

I carry my full size 1911 all day, every day in a Galco SkyOps IWB holster. I find it quite comfortable, but not as nice as OWB carry.
