Someone gave me tickets and was wondering if there was anything special to know?

Can you bring anything with you such as a camera bag, bottled water, snacks, etc?

Can I bring my CCW or do I need to leave it in the car? (Don't plan on drinking just enjoying the game)

I take it you have to pay to park, is it cash only? How much is it?

Any info given is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Like Didley Sugarbug said, weapons are a no-go. They do wand you. I've seen them make a guy decide between throwing a pocket knife away or walking back to his car.

No food or drink. Camera bag is probably fine but they might want to search it.

Parking is all over the area. Last time, I think we paid $20 to park in some hotel's parking lot, cash only. Just drive around and look for somewhere. Go early because you'll probably have to walk kind of far, and make a note of what street you parked on (it can be hard to remember after 4-ish hours. Ask me how I know).

    Lastly, have a blast!

Oh and if you want any food/drinks, bring some astroglide. It makes it easier.

I have attended many Saints games, all stories assumed to be fictional.

They wand you, but usually they do a very poor job. They make you take your keys and phone out of your pocket while they wand you. That is where my pocket knife goes.

It isn't illegal to carry in the Dome, but if they find your weapon you will not be watching a football game that day, that being said most of the time they are so lazy won't find your gun in the small of your back or on your ankle.

Last game I went too, I was profiled for sure. They did a thorough search.... pulled me to the side, made me take my hat off, scanned my hat. Did full body scan with two wands and still decided on an inefficient pat down, they would have found a gun if I was carrying this time. Good thing it was one of the times I didn't have a gun on me, still didn't find the knife in my hand. I have cut back on carrying a gun ever since they got the wands, but the wand use is very poor.

I don't know what kind of camera you are planning on bringing, but the do have a lens length limit. I don't remember what it is, but I think it is 3" or so but I could be wrong.

A parking "trick" that my brother used to do is park at the casino and either before or after the game, go in and "play" for I think it was two hours and you get your parking validated.

I thought it was 30min of play at Harrahs for validated parking? My wife is a diamond member so it's been a long time since we've paid for anything at Harrahs or any of their casinos on the coast.

If you do park ay Harrahs or some place further than 10 blocks or so,hail down a bike taxi. It's cheaper, faster and weaves right through traffic. Faster than walking and definitely faster than driving on game day around downtown and the superdome. Each bicylcle taxi holds two people and they're all over the place, won't take you long to find one at all.

You very well may be correct. It's been two years since we were going to do it but my brother was ready to get home to Alexandria so we went ahead and paid for the parking.

I don't park at the casino for games, but I have never had to pay for parking there, and I don't gamble. They always just click the card. When we were members to the Aquarium and Zoo we would just walk into the aquarium and get parking validated there. They have a deal with lots of lots in New Orleans.

A friend of mine gave me tickets to a Saints game a few years back (the game where Joe Horn took the cell phone out after his touchdown) and the fans around me were atrocious, drunk, vomiting everywhere and wanting to fight everyone. Never went back. Same thing happened here at the Texans game a couple weeks ago. I'm 2 for 2 now and I don't think I'll ever attend another NFL game. Hope you have a better experience.

I go to at least 3-4 games a year, usually more and I have only had to deal with a bad drunk once. Superdome security tossed him. I wasn't afraid to confront him, however you can now text complaints anonymously if you need/want to. It is a pretty tame environment other than a few 4 letter words when people think something stupid happened on the field. I think the worst it has ever been in the dome was the last game with the replacement refs, people where getting pissed at the incompetence, they didn't show half of it on TV. But again, nothing but some foul language, I hear that from kids walking home from elementary school.

OK, here is my opinion as a season ticket holder since 2006. Night game, get down there early, people will be getting off work and downtown will be crowded. Bring plenty money. I don't pay parking but I see signs from $20 to $30. Go to Champion Square which is next to the dome, they will have a band, food drinks, did I mention bring plenty money. No CC, no food or drinks carried in. Benson want you to buy his food and drinks, if you do bring plenty money. Last thing, have a good time and bring all the luck you can, it has been a rough season so far. Geaux Saints.

My wife manages to bring in sandwiches, power bars, cheerios, etc. when she wants. They never stop her, a couple times she brought a couple bottles of water when it was 90 degrees for an early game. I never try to bring food, but it would be easy to put a snack in cargo pockets or something. Food is expensive, I never want to know what the prices of the crap I ate at the game cost. If it were me I wold go the entire game without eating, but sometimes my wife will go get us something during the game. Like I said, I don't want to know what it cost, and she knows that I don't want to know what it cost, but I am a cheap SOB. I could imagine we could get world class cuisine for the cost of game food within a couple blocks of walking.

Update: If you are a batman fan, there will be 6 batmobiles from the movies on display at gate H. Bag of Doughnuts is playing in Champion Square. The boys are finally wearing Black Jerseys at home.

They have a 6" extended Lens limit and they have it marked on the table. My 55-250 all the way out just made it. Sometimes they let you take off the lens to measure sometime they will measure from where lens/body meets to the end. If you have a hood, or filter that makes it a hair over, just take it off and put it in your pocket.
