Got $100 Christmas money to spend on myself, and am toying with the idea of a GPS for the car. Seems like the "big 3" are Garmin, Magellan, and TomTom.

I know little about auto GPS units, thus need advice from those who have experience with them.

Note: Spending more than $100 is NOT an option. (Well, maybe an extra 10 bucks, if some super-duper unit was on sale for $110 etc., but that's it.)

    All input is most appreciated!

The cheap gps units are outdated by the time you get them. I have one that hasn't been turned on in months, but use the iPhone gps all the time.

in my opionion, Garmin has the easiest to use software. If you can find a garmin unit for under $100,that would be the way i would go.

Thanks, but can't go smartphone. Can't do anything which would add to my monthly expenses right now.

I saw a Garmin in use recently by one of my clients, and it looked easy to use and impressive. TigerDirect has a Garmin Nuvi 265W/WT on sale for $109.99. It has a 4.5 star rating based on 312 reviews. Its features include 4.3" Touch Screen, Text To Speech, Free Lifetime Traffic, Bluetooth, US and Canada Maps, etc.

They also have some other Garmin units for sale under $100.

We have 4 used models in great shape in stock. We have three Tom Tom Ones for $60 each and a Garmin Nuvi 205 for $60. Let me know and I can ship one out to you. UPS would be about $5. Would save you $35 for ammo........

    We have that too. :x:

Had to go with a Garmin 265WT from Amazon. $109.97 and free shipping.

Only used it for 1 short trip so far, but it appears to be everything I wanted.

    Thanks for the input!

How about this route. If I were going to go there, I would do this for under a c-note and no shipping.
