Has this bill previously submitted by Rep. Serrano ever made it to or past committee the other 5 times?

Answered on Jun 30, 2009 5:41 PM - Well for one thing Serrano is not the only one whose submitted such a bill. Similar bills have been submitted many times over the past six Congresses. No, none of them have ever gotten out of committee and no one takes it seriously. A lot of Constitutional Amendment proposals get brought up regularly for various political reasons and never gain any amount of traction.

Does this bill to repeal the 22nd amendment come up regularly? Has it come up before?

A1: if you jump to the "Related Legislation" section it would appear that Rep. Serrano has introduced this same legilation at least six other times.

A2: Yes and by more than just Serrano. Over the past six Congresses it has been brought up by both parties regularly, usually depending on to which party the current President belongs.
