handgun powder.. like catching a fart in the wind in new orleans

I have been trolling the site looking for places near NO to buy handgun powder but I can't find any. I would even even be glad to drive to Baton Rouge to get some. Does anyone have any leads on this? I would prefer unique or bullseye but would take almost anything useful for 38 357 loads.

I'd also be glad to trade some 22lr ammo (currency of the south) for a pound.

We have some IMR 4227, which is good for 357 mag loads but not really suitable for the 38 spl. We are looking powder every day, just not having a lot of luck finding it, like everyone else.

I use Win 296 for both 357 mag and 44 mag, as well as 30 carbine. Win 296 was readily available at the recent Slidell gun show. I believe there's another gun show in a few weeks at the Mandeville Castine Center. You can Google it to get the exact dates.....

I use Win 231 for 38 spl, 45 ACP and 380 auto. It was readily available, too, at the gun show in Slidell....

There is a Gun Show in Gonzales this weekend. The last show they had there were a couple of dealers that had a good selection of rifle powders. I don't load for pistols so not sure what they had for that. I would go early to get the best selection.

I called my son up in Kent, OH and he picked me up 8 pounds of Bullseye for $134.00. They don't have Win 231 but, do have Win Competition pistol powder in 8 pound bottles for $170.00. The guy told him the Win Comp stuff is better and cleaner than 231. I'll probably pick up a couple of bottles of that also when I go back home at the end of this month.

Thanks for all the comments. I did end up getting a pound of cfe pistol at the Gonzales gun show today. For others going, there was very little pistol powder. Bf, accuate nito, and the sold out cfe I got the last jug of.
