i tried searching to see if anybody had a thread about how to repair scratches on a stainless steel firearm? i've looked on line and i saw one video of them repairing a stainless steel refrigerator i believe and wondered if it'll work the same on firearms? or would it be better to bring it to a gunsmith? any info would be greatly appreciated!

I know with stainless revolvers you can just polish them. If the scratches are real deep you can lightly sand it then polish.

I would imagine you can just sand, polish, buff the stainless slides like the one on my loaded champion, but probably not the satin, brushed or bead blasted finishes.

well i know the scratches are deep scratches cause i've read online if your finger nail can tug at the scratch, it's deep. but my scratches aren't deep at all.

also what polish would you recommend??? would Mother's Billet Metal polish work???

I use a white polishing/buffing compound on a buffer followed up with blue for most stuff, hit it with black before white if it's real rough. Can get most scratches out pretty easily with the white. If you don't have a buffer a dremel tool will shine small parts to mirror finish pretty quick.

Yes. I've done it. Others have too.

I did a quick search with google and found a great deal of answers.
