Help with changing free floating rail handguard

    I'm a little confused about changing rails for this gun... I've always dealt with rails using delta rings in the past. What would need to be done to change the rail on the gun pictured below to the omega rail listed below.

    They use two different barrel nuts. You need to pull the barrel to do the swap.

    IMO, you've got an upper professionally built to high standards, with one of the best forends on the market (it's what I use on my primary rifle). I'd leave it alone.

    I wasn't planning on doing it anytime soon, if at all... It was more of the curiosity of how to do it that was getting to me.

    How you like the modular rail? Did you leave it as is or add more of lil 3" rails they offer to it?

    I love the MFR. I don't see any need for the added bulk and weight of quad rails. I actually took all the rail sections off. Everything I need (optic, light, front sight, sling mount) is on the top rail.
