If you get a chance to watch this, do so. The ugliness of war!!! One tough generation! Nothing like hearing out of the mouth of those who were there. I never realized the inhumanity and evil possible from men. May God bless and keep all those lost in war who managed to keep their humanity. And may those who live with the horrors find peace.

Our history books need to do a better job informing our future generation so mistakes are not repeated.

Sad thing is, the history books are being rewritten incorrectly.
I like ww2 history. I'll have to dig around and find it online. Thanks.

My grandfather walked in the march and made it through the war after being a POW for 2 years. Unfortunately, he passed before I was born, but my father told me a couple stories passed to him. I couldnt imagine having to deal with that. Those guys that fought were some tough SOBs

Read "Ghost Soldiers." It's an excellent book. Its summary talks about the rescue effort but it covers all details from the battles, the loss, the death march, imprisonment and treatment, etc. It is unbelievable.

The Japanese were incredibly brutal in their treatment of prisoners . There were even instances of cannibalism by Japanese Officers .
