I looking to buy a pair of Alphaburly's or something similar and not sure how much insulation to go with. I'm most likely only going to be using them in the 20-40 degree range with about 5-20 min hikes to the stand. Is 1200 grams too much insulation?

I wear my 1200 gram boots at about 35 and below. I wish I had more when I get in the teens and sigle digits. I wear 800 the rest of the time.

I've tried many methods.. and I don't like cold feet. Here's what I've found is best. Thinly insulated rubber boots. I have the 800gr thinsulate boots, and I can wear them all year long and be comfortable, and they keep you dry and scent free. When it gets really cold, wear thick socks and use feet warmer pads.

No amount of insulation can make up for poor circulation.

None. Put soem good insoles in the bottoms, wick socks, and spray your feets with Right Guard. Insulated boots are like **** on a boar hog for LA.
