my dad thought it would be better to buy me a humongo scope for it.

so...thats on hold for now. He bought me a 10x50 , nice and very large.

not what i wanted for a semi auto military style rifle, hes a great dad and im gonna give it a try just for him.

now im in the hunt for some .223 ballistics so i can see where these rounds
will drop and by how much.

anyone have a chart? the websense at work has blocked just about every hit i google'd.

    thanks...

As far as a red dot sight goes, I like mine at times. I mainly like shooting for precision, but sometimes I like up close rapid acquisition type shooting. For this type of shooting they are great, so I took the plunge and bought a Aimpoint clone of Ebay for my SU-16C, cost about $45 shipped. I love it, but the red dot is a 4 MOA dot which is too big for serious target work. I have shoot an AR with a EoTech which was awesome and makes it easy to be much more accurate with the 1 MOA dot reticle. But the cost was too high for the EoTech because I wasn't sure I would even like it. If you really want a red dot sight, I would suggest do some research and spend the extra money for a good quality 1-2 MOA red dot sight, you won't regret it.

I will occasionally swap back and forth between the my scope (3-12X44) and the red dot sight. Maybe one day I will leave it on something permanently.:)
