In the market for an AK.. Need recommendations please

My knowledge base is very limited when it comes to AK's. Which ones should I be looking at and where's the best place to purchase? Looking for something reliable but not the best of the best. Thanks for your time.

Arsenal - Hungarian slr 107 series. Front sight post already on gas block, so barrel ready to form 1 then SBR. Also has a very nice, Warsaw Pack length side folding stock. Fit and finish on these are very noticeably better than you typical wasr type AKs.
You won't regret it.

What are you gonna do with it?Shoot it once in a while? Run it like a rental?Have it as a safe queen?There are many great makers of AKs that range from a few hundred dollars to thousands.I would recommend a chinese type 56-1 in original configuration.

In for answers for guns that are actually available. Seems that the only ones left are cheap i.o.'s.

Shoot it once in a while. Couple hundred rounds here and there.

Those are nice. Dude on here sold one the other day. They are beefier than a standard ak so you cannot easily change the furniture. High comb is hard on some, may have to adjust shooting style or modify stock.

You can not go wrong with a Yugo fixed stock or underfolder.Allthough the softer men complain about the underfolder stock hurting them when firing them.

Never had a single complaint about my yugo under folder when I had it. I want another one. Just don't have the money for it right now. I regret selling the one I had.

They have a nice Wasr on la sportsman, I just picked up a c39v2, very nice milled receiver, Magpul fruniture with Midwest industries keymod extended rail,primary arms muzzle brake/flash hider, I really didn't think I would like the forward mounted micro dot, but I am really digging it. I also have to norinco mak90's very great guns also

Just make a list of what to stay away from and the rest are gtg based on your budget.

Anything I.O. (Interordinance).
95% of any US made AKM variants.
Home builds (unless you know they are a reputable builder).

I'm sure thered a few others I'm leaving out atm. Just stick with any combloc imported ak variant and you'll be fine.
