Rapidly shooting .22lr suppressed; one round was extra loud. Looking at it I found this.

That's the bullet. Next to me on the ground was this

Comparing this casing to another one, I'm guessing it wasn't chambered and the extractor set it off going forward?

(Yeah I know the guns extra dirty, that's 500+ rounds of suppressed .22 through it since its been cleaned.)

I've had the exact same thing happen so many times with a Tactical Solutions 22lr AR upper that I quite shooting it years ago. Tried all kinds of ammo. It would do this at least once per magazine. Sometimes it would happen several times per mag. Yes, I sent the bolt back to TS. If they did anything to it at all, it didn't change anything

Strange thing happened this year. I broke it out for some reason and tried RWS sub-sonic hollow point ammo and it works great. Extremely reliable and quiet with a suppressor.

    Remington bullets?
F headstamp so I would say Federal.
Federal makes my favorite .22LR load. That said, I have had more real problems with Federal .22lr than any other. I had a case rupture where the rim split. I also had a squib. Both were Federal.
Remington RGB are good for me.
Failure to fires, I have had with all of them out of bulk packs.

I normally plink with golden bullets with no issues in any of my .22's. This is the only issue so far from this box of federal that's almost empty. They seem reliable.

I grabbed a box of this and a couple other things to try out. I also got a box of CCI suppressor ammo at 970 fps. They cycle reliably but not much difference in sound than standard velocity shooting them with such short barrels. Not worth $.12/round compared to $.05 1/2/round. I'm going to try them in the 10/22 if I ever get my Mist out of jail; I'm sure thats where the difference will be.

I am thinking the RGB have a fairly heavy lube and the FAM's look like have they have none. Maybe that lube makes the difference in feeding.

I have never experienced the RGBs being as bad as many report them to be.

Funny thing is people have a baby over FTF (duds) in .22lr rounds. Same people tout the benefits of a ball and dummy drill or dry firing. I view FTF as a true B&D drill.

Prefaced: I'm no expert or even amature gunsmith. If the extractor is causing an out of battery discharge the ammo is resisting going into battery. The force of the bcg is being resisted by something. Mag/feeding issues? I know mine can be difficult sometimes but its a rimfire in a semi-auto configuration. I'm not sure where the line is for "acceptable and expected" and **** poor design, but I would say some failure is to be expected.
