    With no running backs?!?

    LSU 6-6 :hs:

    If they are lucky!

Well, I wouldn't look for that. There's a lot more talent on this team than Hill. If history really does repeat, Kenny Hilliard or Alfred Blue (hell- maybe both) are in for a big year at RB.

    IMHO, of course.

Doesn't one these guys have an ACL injury?

I hope I'm wrong, but I am not high on Zach. I don't think he is as good as people want to believe. And even if he finally has a break out season, when is the last time a one dimensional passing attack won the NC?

Talking about Blue? They keep saying he'll be ready....Guess we'll see.

As for Mett....well, I hope Cam Cameron can help him show some progress, this year....He looked brilliant, at times; other times....

Yes, they have question marks. But it seems like that's when Miles is at his best. :dogkeke:

In short, I think LSU remains the biggest threat to Bama in the West- in spite of A&M coming out of nowhere, last year. Looking forward to how it all plays out....

Yep! I am pretty sure I won't be donning a blindfold and holding my ears closed when the games are on TV. :p

They will be fine with the RB talent they have for this year:

    Alfrd Blue 6-2, 220, SR
    Kenny Hilliard 6-0, 231, JR
    Terrance Magee 5-9, 212, JR

I think the problem may show up next year. Hill was young and that'll screw up things in the future.

    More remarks on Blue's injury
What we expect to see in 2013: Blue did not take part in any scrimmages or the spring game and was held out of contact as a precaution. However, sources told Geaux247 he looked phenomenal from a physical standpoint and showed little to no signs of the knee injury outside of being in a green no-contact jersey.

With the season Jeremy Hill had last year in the absence of Blue, the LSU backfield will once again be deep with a stable of horses when you factor in Kenny Hilliard and Terrance Magee.

Assuming he stays healthy, Blue is primed to prove that he is one of the top backs in the conference and will form a terrific 1-2 tandem with Hill.

While Hill is more of a bruiser between the tackles with the ability to get to the edge, Blue is more of a slasher with the speed to go the distance. He is a solid one-cut runner that explodes through a seam and creates nightmares on the second and third level with his 6-foot-2, 220-pound frame.

Les Miles’ decision on who the starter will be when they take the field against TCU was made a lot easier with the indefinite suspension of Hill for a fight that took place a few weeks back. That combined with what Blue has overcome and accomplished in his limited capacity should catapult him into the starting role once again.

And if he stays healthy, LSU could have its first 1,000-yard rusher since Stevan Ridley ran for 1,187 in the 2010 campaign.

I think Hill was going to be gone, either way. He was to be a third-year Soph, and eligible for the NFL draft. I never did see him sticking around to pursue his PhD. :)

The guy who could REALLY be a game changer at RB for LSU is a kid who's still in HS, at the moment- Leonard Fournette out of St Aug in NOLA....If he signs with LSU, he would most likely be a starter in game one as a true freshman. LSU intentionally did not sign a RB last year in order to go after his services- they want him BADLY. Looks like he'll pick between LSU & Bama.
My prediction is he'll stay home and be a Tiger. 24/7 Sports currently gives LSU a 90% chance of landing him. If that happens- look out. Check this video. He could be a great one.

Why does LSU keep ending up with these thugs . Wouldn't there be some history of this behavior?

i don't think thug is the correct saying how about dumb ass jock. which most of these aholes that go to lsu are.

Les Miles worry about his job now so he's getting rid of anyone who has problems. Once the honey badger blew up in his face what else could he do after. All the talent in the world but these guys are still big dumb jocks.

    Leonard Fournette

He's probably more of a lean to LSU with Hill gone. But watch out bc Saban has done his share of recruiting in our own back yard. If we don't land him, we'll be in trouble.

He may also prove to be a hazard to the team... why is it the talented young men are the ones that get themselves in trouble?

Is it the stardom or the upbringing?

Either way, I hope he chooses LSU. I was pretending the St. Aug colors were LSU P&G and Brother Martin was Bama as I watched the vid. Made me smile :D

Yep, me too. He's a definite ringer! Double yes on Saban. No doubt he recruits his arse off- and has been able to lure some good talent out of LA recently....Fournette's parents are said to be big Tiger fans....That doesn't always make a difference- but I like our chances. :x:

Like you said- it's sad how so many really talented kids run into serious issues when they get a taste of the spotlight in major college sports. I sure hope he's not "the next chapter".....Stardom or upbringing....I guess it's both, in many cases.

I know I commented on the other screw-ups before and everyone is pretty much spot on here - again unfortunately. From another angle you can look at famous actors or musicians who were great at what they did and made big $$$ but decide "Hey lets get drunk and drive into something" or get caught in a drug bust or with a hooker. Fame is hard to handle especially in your young adult years. Hell I'll be the first to admit I did a ton of stupid crap in those years although I never had a multi-million dollar NFL contract riding me to force me keep my nose clean. We also all know that you can try to contain young guys all you want with rules and curfews but the "You are only young once" mantra is loud in their heads.

Honestly I see that remaining this way for a long time as only when the parents, high schools, colleges and NFL are on the same page will you start to see a change.

I'm thinking a two-game suspension at most. With Blue back they'll be fine. Plus speedster freshman Jeryl Brazil was working with first team offense at the RB position this morning at practice

Brazil broke one of Trindon Holliday's track records, this past year. Should be interesting to watch his developement. Might have us a return specialist.
