The gun is mid production, ser# 25k range, putting it around 1885-87 (all frames were produced from 1881-1899, though it remained in the catalog until 1913). Mechanically the gun is tight and functions as it should. The bore is rough with strong lands and groves. It was factory nickel platted, and traces of the original finish remain on the the front strap, butt and protected areas. I'm hauling it over to the Bossier gun show this weekend to see if it will bring more than the sum of its parts ... maybe look for it soon in the for sale section...
