Hope this is the right category to post this. While following some videos on suppressors, I stumbled upon this video. IIRC, there has been a lot of debate regarding legalities of such a pistol. Has this been cleared up or is someone asking for trouble buying or possessing such a firearm? My apologies if this has been posted before. FWIW, I do like the bolt hold open "feature" built in. May have to look into getting that done on my SBR AKS-74U.

From what I understand, the debate was never about the pistol itself, it was about the 5.45x39 as an "AP handgun round". There's no reason a 74 pistol wouldn't be legal. The reason you don't see them is, simply put, that no country ever made them. And the reason not many AK builders make them is you either have to "waste" a big $ Krink kit to build one, or you have to fabricate lots of parts. Way more complicated than the typical AK build.

As for the bolt hold open, it's just a notch ground into the safety lever. You could easily do it yourself, just please do it to a spare and not your AKS lever. :D
