I would get a copy of Wipe Drive, and completely wipe all data from HDD. This will do it to DoD specs and makes it like a new HDD. You then can put whatever operating system u like on it. Consider Ubuntu which is not M$ proprietary and will not take up a whole lot of space. Should even allow this laptop to run faster.

It's called User Account Control. It was released with Vista to help prevent viruses and whatnot. In order to do anything with admin rights you will need to right click the shortcut and select "run as administrator"

You can disable User Account Control (UAC) pretty easily

Windows 7 also uses User Account Control. Are you purposely ignoring me here because I'm 90% sure that disabling UAC will fix your issue?

Don't disable UAC, it brings up new issues. When you goto click on the icon to start Spaybot or another program like that, don't just click it, RIGHT click and then click on "Run as Administrator." That should work. Depending on what you do with it, may consider installing Ubuntu.

What new issues? The fact that you have to actually pay attention to what you install? I mean come on get real here if you're dumb enough to click on malware you're going to be dumb enough to hit the "OH YEA IT'S OKAY TO INSTALL THIS" button :dunno:
