With the election results last night almost unbelievably favorable what legislative changes should we be focusing on?
First order of business should be the re-opening, if not complete abolition, of the NFA registry. At a minimum the removal of all restrictions on suppressor ownership and opening up the registry for new firearms.
I would be interested in the feasibility of a federal pre-emption statute. No state may have gun laws more restrictive than those on the federal level. Nobody should be deprived of their rights because of their state of residence.
I think these are readily achievable goals for the next two years, not a wish list. There's a lot of damage to be undone from the past 30 years and a lot of permanent safeguards that can be put in place.
