I've heard about people getting phone calls & voice mails from "bill collectors" from India threatening to turn you over to the police or courts. I have a Google Voice # that I use for anywhere I don't want my real cell or home phone # associated with.

As a result, I get quit a few scam calls and once I mark them as spam they get a "this number is disconnected" and that is that. I just received a message that had to be from a foreign person, I didn't listen to it but I read the transcription on Google and it said

"Dear Mr. LongGoneDays, bla bla bla, if I do not hear from you by blablabla, I will turn your information over to the Lee County Clerk and they will handle the issue bla bla bla please call me back and refer to affidavit # blablablablablabla thank you have a nice day."

LOL WUT?

First of all, I don't owe you crap, 2nd of all you can't do that even if I did, 3rd of all I don't live in Lee County (FL) and haven't been there in over 9 years.

I got a Florida ID card for $15 so I could save money on a Busch Gardens ticket, and the address I used was in Lee County. Those guys seriously drag the bottom of the barrel when skip tracing.

The # is what I use for everything except personal phone calls, it is all over the web, all kinds of places. I think the latest batch of crap came from using the # when I applied for a pay day loan last year, the fraud calls came out of the woodwork on that, how shocking.

That device looks cool. I can call out from my computer with GV, I just don't have any hardware like headphones or a microphone right now. I have a home phone & usually a prepaid cell so I'm not hurting for a phone. Worst comes to worse if someone tries me on my cell, it gets forwarded to my GV # so I can at least see they called and read the transcript of the message.
