I made a target and stand all out of wood before the last time I hit the range. Pretty much had to scrap the entire thing after I was done. I am definitely stealing your idea, and I am going to make a new target stand before I hit the range next week.

how does it hold up with wind. What are your measurements for the bottom?

Its 1 1/4 inch schedule 40 PVC, so it holds up to wind fairly well. All eight pieces are each 24 inches long.
