Through the years-I have bought two new drums with lids to make drum smoker setups.

Just tell them you want a drum for a smoker and they know exactly what you want. It is a new drum WITHOUT a liner. It will be clean steel on the inside. I have made 3 UDS smokers out of those.

Well, I got my drums and this is what I plan to do with them.

I just really like this design. Hope it works well. I know nothing about smoking meat but always looking for a new challenge.

Hey 86, that looks like a great design idea. Although a bit of a challenge. Best of luck (and skill)...please let us know how yours turns out.

Me, I took the easy way to smoking meats...got a Big Green Egg.

I'm going to take my time so it may take a while to get it done. I'll post progress. Already have the flat pattern for the bottom drum laid out. I used sheet metal cad software so it should be accurate, we will see.
